[Review] Phoenix Warehouse Project: Industrial House with some Flair

Step into Warehouse 215 in the heart of Downtown Phoenix and experience the
sounds of modern house music in a vibrant and exciting venue. This past weekend,
ravers around the southwest congregated in an event full of harmony, respect, and phenomenal
house music.

Night one kicked off with sets from TOBEHONEST, followed by San Pacho, and
finished off with the legend himself, Green Velvet. The main stage had an industrial look due
to the columns that split the dancefloor into two, lengthwise. Decorated with chandeliers
hanging tall from the ceiling, surrounded by photo booths and dancing booths. These
were decorated in shiny, silver ornaments or plain, brown wooden boards making for a more
underground look. With VIP areas stage right and VIP booths stage left, there was plenty
of space for those most important.

Day two had acts Black v Neck, Bijou and Dr. Fresch on the mainstage bringing life to “The
Cathedral”. However, we can’t forget about the second stage, “The Guild”. This space had
exciting acts like Swavé and No Thanks, and if you carried on into “The Reading Room”
you’d discover a cozy stage with library decor and ample space to perform flow art.

Conveniently, bathrooms were located between all three stages and
concert-goers could admire the neon lighting and rust-covered metal beams across the
ceiling on their way to “The Veranda”. This outdoor space featured multiple vendors,
benches and heaters where patrons could enjoy a Voodoo Ranger sample while having a
run at Nintendo 64 games or smoke while relaxing their ears.

Security was thorough, to ensure the safety of the attendants, the staff, and talent
while remaining understanding and fair, which led to a very positive atmosphere from
the get-go. There was a water fountain located by the bathrooms but be sure to bring
your own vessel, as water bottles were not provided free of charge. There was a bit of
sound bleeding from “The Guild” into “The Reading Room” but overall, high-quality sounds
with deep bass and crisp highs.

This event showcased incredible talent in an equally incredible venue. That lead
to an atmosphere unlike any other, with respectful concert-goers enjoying two nights of
good-feeling house music. Be sure to check out the Phoenix Warehouse Project on May 3rd with Walker & Royce and special guest Westend.
