Lighting up the Desert: Phoenix Lights is Landing at Rawhide

Phoenix Lights returns to Rawhide Event Center for a weekend packed with top of their class DJ’s that will wow the audience. Relentless Beats just doesn’t stop, and they’re back for the first weekend of April at the legendary Rawhide Event Center with Rezz and Louis the Child as headliners. Long-time event-goers know that this is the third time the festival returns to Rawhide, so they should expect a weekend with ample room to dance, short bathroom lines and plenty of vendors.

Day 1 kicks off with Phoenix native Edward Joseph whose intoxicating house tunes will set the tone for the night. Zero will kick up the energy a notch with some drum and bass, bass house and UK bass. Carrying on with the DnB vibes is Hybrid Minds, british duo that will maintain the high-tempo. For the last of the openers we get It’s Murph, whose house music has made the rounds around North America in a very fast manner.

The first heavy-hitter for Day 1 is Said the Sky, melodic bass artist whose melodies, piano riffs and synths have captivated an audience for over 10 years. His blend of dubstep, DnB and melodic bass generate a certain buzz that is hard to put one’s finger on- you have to see a live Said the Sky set to understand the feelings he evokes when playing live. NGHTMRE needs no introduction, carrying the trap-music baton for a decade, he has transformed the bass music scene, collaborating with artists like Zeds Dead or Illenium. He’s also transformed the relationship between hip-hop and edm, collaborating with A$AP Ferg, WIz Khalifa, Lil Jon and Ghostemane. If you’ve never been to a NGHTMRE set, buckle up, it’s gonna get wild.

To wrap up day 1 we will be blessed by a performance of Rezz. The Ukrainian-Canadian DJ blends hypnotic and dark-basslines to generate a feeling that no other artist has come close to. She has a way of maintaining the crowd engaged with her minimalist yet sharp sounds that will truly take you on a trip into another dimension.

Jon Casey’s unique trap music will kick off day 2 and he’ll bring back those early 2010’s vibes to the dancefloor. J. Worra has some of the most euphoric, beautiful melodic house but she can also blend some heavy-hitting tech house so be on the lookout for her set. After her we get a dose of hyper-melodic bass by none other than Kaivon, whose style is so unique it’s hard to put a finger on.

Netsky blends intoxicating melodies, piano riffs and overall easy-listening drum and bass that just keeps you asking for more. The Belgium-born DJ brings a euphoric and invigorating energy to stage that keeps you wanting more. He likes to push the boundaries in terms of transitions and he is going to be a set to remember. Of the Trees has such an interesting sound, combining downtempo, bass and ambient which leads to a super unique listening experience. His recent collab with Griz is unreleased, but you can probably bet he will play it so we will be looking forward to that.

Finally festival-goers will get a performance by none other than Louis the Child. The American duo have proven why they are one of the most recognizable names in electronic music, making waves for over ten years. They have headlined festivals like Coachella and you better believe they will bring their a-game to the desert… of Arizona. Grab your tickets before they sell out.
